After Franklin Stagg-Baumgartner IV graduated from Meeting Island High School (Althing Gate), his parents offered to put him through law school, following the family tradition.
They were a bit dismayed, but understanding, when Frank chose to have a bit of fun before settling down, relying on his thrill-seeking urges and his natural athleticism.
He took part in surfing competitions, eventually competing on the professional circuit, and he participated in the annual Spontoon Quadrathlon (a traditional triathlon combination of swimming, running and biking, but with the addition of lawn croquet). Having cervine hooves instead of a cheetah's paws, Frank submitted to a handicap when competing in order to use a palm sap compound to improve his stance on his surfboard - only a few adhesive spots were allowed on the board, and the compound was dyed red so the size and placement could be verified.
The picture shows Frank toward the end of his professional surfing career, posing with his favorite board.
