Given their past history, Takeshi was reluctant to be put in Takaa's team in combat class. However, he soon began to enjoy the fact that he might be able to even the score. Even though he never wasted an opportunity to scuffle with the lion, they're both concerned for each other, forming a love-hate rivalry. Both of them being unarmed fighters doesn't help, just riles up the fox even more. Jinx likes to tease them by fusing their names: Taketaka.
