Been itching to update him for the longest time, finally got the time to do it.
"The kid is special, i tell you; from the day i found him amongst the bodies of his people to this day, he always striked me an air of divinity, if such thing is possible amongst us mortals.
That day will never fade away from my memories, i knew his parents, for long we've been brothers at arms, they saved my life and so i pledged my loyalty to them, and i did that by joining their clan. Nomads, they never stood in one place for too long, the world is big and so is their ambition. On that day i was scouting the roads in order to secure our voyage, little did i know that death came from backline, i was too far away to know what happened, but i could hear the screams and suddenly, a big pillar of light, followed by a gigantic creature rising from the landscape, blank face, two pairs of wings and endless arms folding amongst themselves; just as quickly as that creature appeared, it vanished after unleashing a gigantic roar. I fell to my knees, i didn't know why, i've faced death before, but i always stood my ground, but i felt compelled to bow down.
After regaining my stance i hurried to the site, only to find the clansmen, dead, no signal of fight, it felt like the divine breath of life just abandoned their corpses; i was devastated, i looked around for survivors, anyone, to no avail, til i heard the cry, a single cry, sounded like a newborn. Could it be?
I don't know nor do i WANT to know how, but the kid survived, i found him there, embraced by the corpse of his mother, crying, i took him; their parents didn't leave me to die, nor i will let it happen to him, but something was wrong, i saw the kid when he left his mother's womb, he was just as normal as Seph and Mora, if not grumpier than them; but when i unfolded his blanket, his eyes...they used to be brown but now it was a strange mix of yellow with red, his pupils once round now slitted... yes i was worried but for the time being, the kid was fine, and that's what mattered.
I failed my duty with them, but regardless i was free; and with my freedom i chose to take the kid as my own; the other clans wouldn't accept him. We moved to Eheyn and i went back to my old blacksmithing ways, a good choice if i say so myself, this city here is plagued by beast attacks, and when you need to fight, a good weapon and an even better set of armor is what you need, though i fear for the kid's safety, we were economically sound.
Can't tell much for the kid's childhood, for i was sadly absent during most of it, a thing i regret to this day; what i remember was that he used to be caring, sweet but one day he got back home with a cynical look on his eyes, like the door of kindness that was his heart suddenly closed to everyone, i asked im what was wrong, "i learned a new thing at school today", that's what he said, from that day forward, he never changed back, and i think he never will.
When he hit 20, he was enlisted and i bid him farewell, for 5 good years i was worried sick of what would happen to him, til the day he got back, he was still as cynic as ever, but that boy was long gone, he arrived a man, that's when that air got increasingly noticeable and i felt like i was looking at the true son of Seph and Mora, cocky like his father and elusive as his mother with his own unique spice thrown into the mix.
"I'll be living here, just so you know; an old friend got me a job in the outskirts and i'm gonna need a weapon. You're pretty good with glaives, are you, Uncle?" "
