Last of the 2007 art... but I saved the best for last! :]
This is the first fursuit costume I've created of my Charizard Pokemorph character Kaida, a female, anthropomorphic-like Pokemon. So if you ever see a Charizard wearing a hoodie running around at various conventions, that's me! Creating this costume was one of the best learning experiences in my life and its success is what led to my decision to become a costume and fursuit builder. This partial costume features a moving jaw too.
I will be re-doing this costume eventually in two versions: full Charizard and anthro Charizard. If you have any questions about my costume or how I made it, check out the walkthrough video (below) or ask me :3

Awesome! Then I thank you extra muchly for watching my videos *hugs*
Really? You think the elastic band is better than a belt loop? That's good to hear!
And to answer your question, I got the foam at Jo-Anns. You can also find it at other fabric specialty stores like Hancock Fabrics. You can get high density foam at some Wal-Marts even and at Hobby Lobby. :3

ya, its a great idea! i made a tail for this past Halloween and used some old velcro strip if i had lying around. it work as well, it made it hang to low and easier for people to pull off. it wasnt really a great tail anyway, the fur sucked ass and the stuffin was horrible. but ya, the elastic band seems more secure and easier to control. i wanna make a tail like that.
ok, thanx! ;3 i gotta go get some now, i wanna try to make my raccoon fursuit now :3

I know it has been up for a while but damn! You have some talent! Charizard is one of my personal favorites, and I still hold onto my old long since retired pokemorph charizard. ^.=.^ So question for you, what the hell did you use to A. Make the wings and B. Have them stick out and not curl in on you?
Thanks so much! Heh, Charizard is like everyone's favorite... because he's so badass! c:
Ah yes, the wings were made from three things: cardboard, fabric, and wire. (oh and glue and elastic too). Basically I took a strip of cardboard that fits the length and width of my back, bent some 4 or 6 gauge (can't remember which) copper grounding wire from Home Depot into the wing shape with support for my shoulders and lower back, glued it to the cardboard backpack, glued the fabric wings to the frame, attached elastic straps to the cardboard, and stuck it though a hoodie jacket.
I've got some WIP pictures on my flickr which better shows how I make my costumes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/caninehybrid/sets/
Also my walkthrough video explaining how it works/how I made it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qg4RzNKes0

Thank you!
Awwr, Typhlosion would be so cute :3 Charizard wasn't that complicated really... the hardest things to figure out where the head and the wings being a first timer without any knowledge of internet resources and how to exploit them. You'll be better off than me in that regard.
Sure, I'd love to share some tips with ya! Are you looking for anything specific?
Also if you don't know about it already, I'll go ahead and point you to the best internet reference on making fursuits out there, the Fursuit Community on LiveJournal: http://community.livejournal.com/fursuit/profile
They've got answers for everything and if you can't find tutorials there, go ahead and post a new question! Everyone's willing to help out.
Good luck! I'd love to see pictures if/when you start on it!
