As cute as this is, it's the last line in the bottom right hand corner that has my attention.
See, there wasn't a date at the beginning of the lovey dovey scene signifying it took place in the past... meaning this moment that is obviously in the past (more years in the past than the scene with the senator) is actually taking place in the present... meaning it's most likely part of the little girl's mind screw.
