Here's one guy that nobody has met -- Dhere'k the hornskull (Carnotaurus). He will be (if I ever write the damned thing) in the extended version of "A Path of Thunder" (which will be called "Paths of Thunder"). He's replacing the very minor character Zarod, who was a parasaurolophus (not to be confused with Zaron, the tyrannosaur General). Besides the obvious reason of adding a Carnotaurus to my story, he will have a much larger appearance than Zarod ever did.
Dhere'k hails from the same planet as Grell did. And just like Grell, he was also a mercenary in the same organization. They had a friendly rivalry, each one always looking to upstage the other. But while Grell was captured and turned to serve the Patrol in exchange for a commuted sentence, Dhere'k joined on his own volition, after deciding his criminal ways would eventually get him dead, or worse. As fate would have it, both ended up in the same ship, although Dhere'k joins the Tarrakhan at the same time as Darkthunder becomes its commander. While he and Grell are no longer rivals in the ship, they still treat each other as if they still were, so they exchange barbs at times. Despite this, both are loyal friends, and will help each other when needed in combat.
And sorry, guys, but this Carnotaur is totally straight. He even wants to have hatchlings, so he's got his eyes on Vak'zhoria, who got changed into a Carnotaur as well (formerly a Styracosaurus). She doesn't respond to his advances, though -- she hates his guts, even, and would bite his head off if it were still legal for archosaurs to kill each other. But Dhere'k is tenacious.
Dhere'k is wearing the standard Patrol uniform, with a skin tight long-sleeved shirt, full pants and boots that leave the toes exposed if I had drawn the rest of his legs and the feet. I began to run out of paper, and the rest came up so nice I was not willing to erase and redraw it. (I'm a dinosaur, still drawing with pencil and paper.)

The Tarrakhan is more of a scout/law enforcement ship, so the soldiers don't carry really heavy weaponry. Each soldier is trained in using a large rifle along with two smaller guns and assorted grenades. The big guns are carried by those in Krex class ships, for when archosaurs go to actual war.
Archosaurs need them "breeders" if they are to achieve their goal of populating the entire galaxy. Can't do that if everyone were gay.
And Dhere'k at least wants to have a spouse and children. He's not like General Zaron -- in the expanded story (and the next chapter of "Unresolved Paths") his mating habits will be shown.

Well they say practice, practice, practice. I don't think there's anything to improve on, but ultimately, what the hell do I know about art? =P
I dunno if this is helpful at all, but my ex (Raiken... let's see if I can make this work...
Raiken) looks up tutorial pics and stuff a lot. It seems to have helped him improve pretty significantly. And there's been even more improvement in the last 3 years since he uploaded a pic... I need to go slap that boy for being so neglectful...
