Thank you so much for not only making me feel welcome here on FA, but for also giving me yet another reason to believe in my abilities as a writer. Without you, I may not be as optimistic and excited about getting my most recent works out their into the mainstream.
As a special treat for all of your comments, support, and patronage, I am digging DEEP into the vault and sharing with you a Fan-Fiction I wrote back when in 1998! It is my oldest existing work and, big surprise, it is based on "The Land Before Time!"
DISCLAIMERS:
1: I did NOT edit this piece. I kept it as much in its original integrity as my Recovery Program would allow me to.
2: The LBT characters were written based on friends of mine in High School. So, as it should be no suprise, they may act just a LITTLE differently.
3: For those of you who read my recent journal, you'll note that, when I wrote this, I did NOT know Ducky was a girl yet. *shrug* Whoops!
4: More on Ducky. I did not know her quirk was that she never spoke in contractions until years later. So, clearly, the MALE Ducky in this story does speak in contractions. :)
5: The "Car" featured here was a very major part of my High School years and Chomper's character is modified to fit the oh-so lovable driver of this magnificent, vehicular specimen. I hope you find it amusing.
Once again, I thank you all for helping me to continually evolve myself as a writer. I look forward to getting to know each of you more and collaborating in ways that take all of our skills to levels we have yet to experience. Gabby-Gabby-Gaboo!

It's too late right now, but I read up to page five. 8D I giggled when I remembered tree stars, and all the imagery that came from the movie along with them... I think it'd be a lot more touching to go back and watch the movie now where I'd apptriate things like that more. :3
Mmm, I don't know what a contraction is either. ;O; I could look it up, but I was hoping I'd just end up rememebering, or maybe be able to tell. :3
Hopefully I'll have less spelling mistakes or whatebs when I fninish reading tomorrow. :3 It's a cute start, hopefully the chopper dino dude is okay! D: I'll comment when I finish when I wake up. 8D Hehehe.

hehe. It certainly does bring back memories. Oddly enough this was my ONLY Land Before Time parody. Over the past 11 years, I've never done anything else LBT related at all.
Contractions are when you pull words together. Kind of like saying "I'll" instead of "I will." Ducky ALWAYS says the whole words when she talks in the movies. Famous ones of hers are "I do not like this," or "This is not good. It is not, it is not." Note that "Is not" could be "Isn't" and "Do Not" should've been "Don't." It was actually a rather cute, character quirk along with her infamous "Yep, yep, yep" and "Nope, nope, nope!"

Ah, well with the effect it had, that might slow ya down a bit. :3
I see! Well you still knew how Ducky talked, so there weren't too many contraction moments. (: It is still a pretty charming trait she has!
They were driving at 1000 miles an hour? 8D Ehehe... well luckily no one got hurt (except for the guy that was eaten at the end, and maybe Cera's foot) even with all the reckless driving. Having the devil sell Chopper a car kind of reminds me of the black hole in your spiderman-yoshi story. :3 Just suddenly comes around and brings a whole other world to something we already know!
Reading a story about your cool car being eaten by dinosaurs and scratched up is a pretty cool way to have your car "ruined" if it has to be. :B
Sounds like a neat lil story! :3

Thanks, Oxnard. I'm sure that you, too, have tons of fun tales and adventures you have shared, or may share, of those amusing, grade school years. Going through them is hell. However, in retrospect, I am glad my mind is able to cling more tightly to the good times than the bad ones.
FYI, Lines that Chomper says in this story were "direct quotes" from my friend who drove this legendary, 82 Plymouth Reliant. That's why, of all the characters, he was most "off." The vehicle, truth be told, was a piece of junk. However, it was LOVABLE piece of junk!
Final note. I used to work in the library of the school I went to while I was a student. Here, I met a Library Sciene intern that, for two months, I convinced that my friend's car was the coolest thing on four wheels. Eventually, I got him to sneak out of school with me to find the car and, when he did, he looked at me like I was out of my mind.
Guess his response was a foreshadow to what I was to become, eh? :) <LoL!>

Ehehe, stay positive! :3 At least memories are a lot easier than reliving all the stresses and fears of each little moment in the past - usually it just kinda keeps everything in one big bubble that comes at ya at once? :B At least that's kind of how remembering school is for me, just a bunch of different places and feelings or people hit all at once and you get some idea of what it was like in general. :B Anyway!
Ooh, I wasn't sure if maybe the devil possessed Chopper when he gave him the car, or if he was just quoting a song near the end... but I figured that was probably more like the people you knew... though Chopper was the little t-rex, right? I didnt' see him talk much the little I watched of him, but I figured it probably wasn't too close to what he was like... not sure! :3
Any piece of junk can still be loveable! Sometimes we can get to praising something so much that when we actually show it to others, either we got their expectations too high up, or it's just our own sort of fanaticism that made it what it is. Maybe kind of like in something I read last semester, how an appreciation for an art can't be learned, it must be felt? If someone tells you to like something, you're far less likely to enjoy it than something you experience and grow close to yourself. :3 That's just how things are sometimes. (:

That's a very awesome point. For example, as I've likely shared before, the car appearing in this story is named after a car featured in the "B" movie "The Stoned Age." For just about anyone else, this movie would be considered the lamest piece of work ever. However, since it became the source of my friend's car's name, it is one of my absolute favorites! In addition, the song "Don't Fear the Reaper" is HUGE in this movie and, before watching the movie that named the car, I couldn't care less about the "Blue Oyster Cult."
Perhaps more on a simple level, I think we as people can bond even with the oddest of things if, by happenstance, it is something we can correlate to a good memory. Heck, if the particular object, story, movie, song, etc. is present during an amazing point in our lives, it has the power of becomming an instant hit. Whether it is truly one, or not.
Of course, the REVERSE is also true.
Back when I was little, I watched "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and got scared to DEATH of it. Primarily due to the scene where the guy gets his heart ripped out. To this day, I cannot sit down and watch that movie without getting squeemish.
Back on LBT, though, Chomper doesn't talk AT ALL in LBT 2. However, when they bring him back, he does talk in LBT 5. He is a regular ol' chatter-box in the TV series. Though, as you can guess, he's nothing like the Chomper (friend) I portrayed in this relic. Nope, nope, nope!
