i usually use the US extended keyboard. click on the flag and select "show keyboard viewer" and you will see the keyboard. now hold the option key and you will see the keys change. the highlighted ones mean you press that and then a key without the option pressed, like for Ü you press ⌥U then U.

system preferences> international> input menu

from there you can select your keyboards and other options. select character palette and keyboard viewer. then the options should be available on your drop down menu on the flag ;)

I see. Thanks for the info. Idk what my laptop is that I have at my dad's all I know is that it sucks. Sometimes going between two parents can get on my nerves, I'm used to it already, but sometimes even after about a decade that crap still confuses me

unless you are using an apple product more then likely you are on winblows. if its a gateway then its going to be winblows.

start > accessories > all programs > system tools > character map

from there you can see all characters your keyboard can make. it will show you the alt code as well. for example to make a capitol Thorn Þ you hold alt then press 0222 on the number pad (not the top row number keys) then you let go of alt. 0254 makes the miniscule thorn þ
