i don't normally share things like this here, but i'm pretty darn proud of all the work 
justjim and i have done to this room over the past three weeks! i won't share what it looked like before we started (believe me, though, it was a disaster).
we're far from done, but when we're finished, this room is going to be a safe place for my husband and i to go to watch movies, draw, play video games, and even cook dinner! i'd like to install a cute little kitchenette in here at some point. i don't know if money will ever allow for that, but it's a nice dream. at the very least we'll be moving our convection oven/fridge/microwave in here!
i wanted to choose a calming colour - one that'd be easy on the eyes. originally i wanted to paint the room orange, but it didn't take me long to realise what a mistake that would have been, haha. i'm REALLY happy with my decision.

our bedroom (the room we've been living in for the past two years) is located just across the hall and is identical to the one in the pictures above. my sister used to live in the room we just painted, but moved out a few weeks ago, so now we're going to use it as a place to cook, work on commissions/art, relax - basically for everything but sleeping. we'll do that in our old room. things will feel much less cramped when we're not confined to a single 400 sq. foot room!
Looks good. A nice coat of paint does wonders!
I do have a concern though: Those stains on the wall prior to to the coat of paint: They look like water damage. I would do an inspection inside the wall (if possible) to ensure that the drywall and insulation are not harboring black mold.

oh gosh! that isn't good.. could you tell me where specifically you see the stains? in the first four pictures the walls are covered in white patches because i had to to fill loooooots of deep gashes and nail holes with spackling before applying the primer. i didn't see any actual stains on the walls while we were working, but it's very possible i might have missed them!

ahh, i see! thanks for pointing it out! it might be a combination of the lighting and the fact that those photos were taken immediately after we put on our first coat of primer (it was still quite wet and patchy-looking), but i'll ask my mom what she thinks since she's the owner of the house!
the black stain was something my sister had painted on the wall when she lived here. she was really rough on the walls in her bedroom!
