as far as I know it was a divine canine creature that was worshipped in pagan Serbia befor people got christianised.
And it is said that Val Codlac inspired the legend of the werwolf (with some influence from ancient Greece9 but that is all that I know about it. Your awesome pic reminded me of Val Codlac
