Here's a purely traditional piece done in India ink and pens with ink washes and some splatter effect using a brush.
You might recognize this raven as he's based upon the character from Les Misérables, that is the avian version of the strict Inspector Javert, ever seeking justice and Jean Valjean.
There is no digital clean up on the raven, he's purely done by hand with corrections done by hand too.
So, I hope you like!

Isn't that border cool! I just thought about splatter to add a bit more to the piece. It's fun to do as well, but better have a lot of news papers around. What a mess! White backgrounds can be a bit boring at times. Think of what a color splatter border would look like! *squeeee!*
If I'd really have been thinking I would have done some stippling in this piece to add variety. It's amazing what you can do with simple line though. I really love my pen and ink. This piece marks the first time in a long time that I've sat down and done a serious work. I tell you, man, inking is like Zen; I just get lost in it.
I've gotta figure out what to do with that zumi ink set you gave me now. Perhaps I need some rice paper?
