When Hunter King Dagoth first built Drakkengarde, he had discovered a dormant Void Gate. Fearing the threat it held to humanity and the kingdom, he built a garrisoned sewer prison to contain it. It would come to be later known as the Rathole. The entrance was built directly adjacent to the Drakken Barracks where an army of the King's greatest soldiers were pitted as the last line of defense should the Void ever become active.
Sir Siegfred is one of the last of Hunter King Dagoth's warband who has not succumbed to the Plague and has retained his sanity. Bound by honor, he stands at the entrance to the Rathole ever watchful and challenging any Carriers who would be foolhardy enough to try and brave the horrors below. Only he has the way inside, and he will not let you go in there without a fight.
