Designed to be the eyes of the fleet the Congress was mass produced (200 built) and served as a convoy escort and patrol craft, with them seeing more action than the massed battleships of the fleet. This one here is seen firing a Killer Whale anti-shipping missile at a distant target, whilst an Overlord class dropship cruises in close formation.



A variation of the older art of the Congress ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/images/6/.....ongress-sl.gif ) hich looked good if plain, basically being a long sausage tube, but still infinitely better than the redone art ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/images/e/.....Congress-c.gif ) hich I always thought looked like a mouse or odd cat toy. Here the superb Matt Plog mattplog.deviantart.com/ worked to make the old look of the Congress more sleep and modern looking as well as no longer just being a big 'ol tube.
