Continuing my final "Throwback Thursday" presentation for April, 2016, I have another 'photo-op' taken (by my brother Glenn) from the pier in Pompano Beach, Florida...
Besides getting a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean to the east (with its many floating vessels off in the distance) and the many hotels (and other buildings) along the shore to the west, the pier alone provides its own entertainment, with the diversity of humans (tourists, fishermen, etc.) and animals (birds, fish, and other creatures). This picture depicts some animals interacting with a man-made device...
On the pier, a special sink was set up for the fishermen to wash the fish they'd caught, and their hands. But, when it's not occupied by people, sometimes the birds hang around for a drink of fresh water. Such was the case that day, when someone didn't completely turn off the sink's faucet, and a small flock of pigeons clustered around, taking turns getting some liquid refreshment. Once again, Glenn's timing was perfect, in capturing the moment with his smartphone's camera.
I'll post another interesting snapshot from the Pompano Beach pier, later on...
