These disks are a small portion of the “Wind Wall” at Exploration Place in Wichita, Kanas. The wall is 42 feet high at its highest point and gently slopes along its 146 foot length. It is covered with 350,000 of these metallic disks that dance in response to wind currents blown at them from several fans operated and aimed by museum patrons. The Wind Wall is a permanent part of the museum’s Flight Pavilion.
