
Ok.. so I couldn't think of a better title....
The tail on the left was made using a pattern I had created for a commission, minus the black band between the white and black. I had originally made it for myself, though felt it was a bit too short. I enlarged the pattern slightly, making it slightly longer and a touch wider. The tail on the right was the end result.
I knew that because I would be using three sides to make the tail, I had to take care in how much wider I redid the pattern. Any extra width that gets added to the pattern, gets multiplied by how many sides are used and adds to the diameter of the tail. I still remember reading something along those lines in a teddy bear making book. It talked about being careful with the seams when using multi-sided patterns.
