Yes you read the title correctly, this quartz was coated in Titanium.
You won't see this out in nature but its a breath taking piece in my collection and they're some what expensive but if your lucky to find one of these in a gem shop chances are anyone can buy it. However the bigger these samples are the price goes up. This sample was between $30-18.
As for the Titanium its Atomic Nu. is 22 has a melting point of 1941 K (1668 °C, 3034 °F) is also resistant to corrosion in sea water, aqua regia (is a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid) and chlorine and is used in white pigments (paint & ink).

Very cool. I think titanium is also resistant to pure sulfuric acid. So you could theoretically coat exterior craft and enter the atmosphere of Venus without melting or corrosion.
It doesn't conduct heat that much, so might be a decent insulator. But probably too expensive to coat something in bulk..

The crystal your seeing is coated in Titanium that purple blue and gold color while the crystal it self is Quartz XP
