"...which makes me absolutely nothing less than your God. Now, submit to me!"
The White Wolves are fusions of mortal and divine, their souls born of Luna the Moon and Solari the Sun, eclipsing bodies born of terrestrial begetters. Their spirits bleach their fur white and stain their eyes red, and they have a potential to obtain powers far beyond what fully mortal people can hope to achieve.
Lobos was the first White Wolf. Long ago, when the world was engulfed in war and the race of wolves was at risk of annihilation, Lobos became a figure they rallied around, that they followed into battle, and with his leadership and power they secured their lives and future.
Lobos was not satisfied with being a savior of men, though. His soul was divine, godhood was in his blood, but his flesh was mortal, his life promised long but finite. His son was born with brown fur and yellow eyes, and Lobos saw that even his seed was as plain as those around him.
He asked, begged, demanded to be granted immortality. Every time, his godly parents' answer was, "Not yet."
Lobos grew disillusioned as time passed and became bitter. He felt betrayed, tossed aside. He angered quickly and became violent. He demanded worship from the wolves and punished those who would not bow to him. A nation rose up under his feet, which he demanded total obedience from as he delved into unknown and dangerous magics in his search for godhood.
One day, Lobos's son asked for a little mercy on behalf of the wolves. His blood soon ran from Lobos's mouth and hands.
Luna and Solari mourned, and they begat another soul, which eclipsed Lobos's second child born months later. Lobos was delighted to see the white fur of his newborn daughter, but it was soon replaced by fury when he discovered that her divinity was not of his own doing.
Lobos eventually threatened to once again engulf the world in war. The other people of the world had begun to band together to oppose him, fearing his power and cruelty. Days before violence broke out and a war that would have ended all life commenced, Lobos was slain by his daughter, who then put the fate of the nation of wolves in the hands of the leaders of the other peoples.
The wolves of today live in villages and cities around the world, the vast empire of Lobos long since crumbled. His story has survived somewhat, as a classical villain in the stories of the other people, but the wolves repeat the story as a warning, a warning of how even gods can fall.
However, Lobos's spirit refused to die all those centuries ago. This long time he has drawn strength, and as the knowledge and power of mortal people progresses, he sees more and more possibilities, ways to return to life and finally claim his long-sought godhood.
As Lobos prepares to return, one of his descendants is born as a White Wolf. A White Wolf that, by whatever quirk of fate, looks exactly as Lobos did when he was a symbol of hope so long ago...
