I was like... Somewhat feeling like maybe I should put a mature thing on it because... Ya know. But animals are not Ken dolls and this is in no way sexual unless maybe you want to be impalednby velvet coat antlers. As you can see, I have a problem with impulsively commissioning Jalawhey. Seriously, go commission her now.
Elliot here is trying to look intimidating after having just shed his winter coat. Seeing Elliot without antlers is actually quite rare, save for when he just sheds them. As with Irish Elk, he starts growing them back days after he sheds them. It takes about five months for his rack to come in fully. Then he sheds his velvet, just in time for the rut. While his antlers come in, he consume up to three times what he would in the winter months, as the amount of nutrients required for a rack weighing over 40kg is considerable. And while he is still a fantasy creature and appears as an elf most times, I like to put realism and science into all of my characters. There are still many articles I have to read on this amazing species, so I may change information as I go if I stumble upon new research... Things are difficult when your baby is a member of an extinct species.
