An unrelenting quake roared through the ship as the controls took a heavy jerk to the left. Jenny could feel the starboard engine tearing itself apart as the Toad’s Double Bubble zipped past.

“Come on girl… hold togetheeeeeer!” she said, her mind and muscles straining to turn the controls as the bulk head beside the starboard started to bulk. A pained creaking filled the ship.

“DAMNIT!” Slamming an emergency release she attempted to jettison the engine, but as the damage extended to the emergency release systems.
Before her through the windshield she could see the Toad ship turning about, getting ready for another strafing run.

Cutting the power Jenny pushed herself out of her seat ands grabbed at the ships’ framework to hold her steady as she closed her eyes. Still propelled by the wayward engine the ship limped along through space.

Zooming in at full speed the Toad let loose a barrage. The armored coating of the Righteous Indignation buckled. The already maimed starboard side lit up as the paneling was torn apart. So intent on watching the ship burn the pilots never noticed the strange aura that surrounded the burning engine. A moment later as if held by an invisible hand the engine was torn from the side of the ship and slammed into the bubble craft.

Slumping down on the floor of the ship gasping, the sweat matting her fur beneath her armor. Her vision and consciousness fading fast she closed her eyes as an eruption flashed across the ship. Tumbling through space the Righteous Indignation was now adrift.

A moment later a crackling message echoed through the cabin, “Jenny? Are you there Jenny? I could really use that pick up about now!”
