Feels so weird to be taken by the pulsion of drawing immediatly a mental image, after all this time...
Note1 - don't talk to me about the anime Girls und Panzers, the title does not come from there
Note2 - did not bother to clean the lines so you might see shadow tails for example
Note3 - yes, ceratopsians probably were not able to make leaps, just like elefants. I just don't care.

Thank you alot Gene - Nice to hear you telling that since I have on the contrary the feeling I lost almost all my imagination - before I had many comments coming while looking at others artist's works, but I don't anymore and have to force myself just to give an unimaginative feedback...
I am pessimistic about that. I already had an episode of this kind fifteen years ago and never fully recovered from it, productivity broke down from several drawings per day to a couple per week, and my subjects drastically changed.
And here you see what's going on this time...

Perhaps it can be said that one of the "jobs" of illustration is to trick the veiwer into seeing things than aren't really there, such as volume on a flat surface. Depending on the subject, a few scribbled lines here or there can suggest a texture that the mind adds in as it processes the visual information of the image. It can really work a lot better than painstakingly fully rendering a texture or even a complete drawing. Like reading a novel, such an image engages the viewer's imagination and makes looking at the picture more of a collaboration of sorts. That's what the logical part of my mind is thinking while looking at your image and thinking about your comments about it.
The slightly less logical part of my mind thinks this is a really cool picture and concept and how great it would be if I could draw dinosaurs like this. You did excellent work on that triceratops. Your picture would be right at home in several fantasy art books I have that are published by a company named SQP.
