Hi there :)
I can't help to notice that this commission you've done for renohidaka has many similarities that make it look much like my own character, Guyver47, with some of the details changed.
I generally don't bother anyone that has a grey wolf character with both black stripes and blue hair (it's kinda common, honestly), but I almost mistook this as my character when I viewed it.
The reason I ask is because you admitted to creating a different commission based on Shinigamigirl's recognizable character and proceeded to do so even when you felt it may be wrong to do so.
I was just wondering if it's possible that my character's images were given as an example to create this one in particular?

Listen She didn't use any of your pictures. She came up with it on her own. The character use to be an amazon before it was shifted into the form you see in the picture. As you said there are many blue haired wolfesses out there. We are clearing up the mess with Shin and my picture has been removed.
So calm down ok? your character is safe.

Calm down? I don't think that any of my questions implied that I was upset. I just want to be informed.
She couldn't have come up with it on her own because Reno Hidaka admitted in their own journal that they used another artist's picture as an example of what kind of hair color, fur color, stripe color and glove style they wished to have on their own commission. They had to give her a description of what she wanted.
I'm no longer commenting on the Shin issue because that part doesn't involve me, it just brings the artist's ethics into question.
The part that does involve me is whether or not Reno Hidaka gave MidnightDraven any references of my character. If so, simply citing the source would have been sufficient and an example of good online etiquette. I've already commented to Reno Hidaka and am waiting upon their response on the matter.
You're not involved in this issue either, so with all due respect, my questions are reserved for the artist and not you.

Well i don't think the artist is even answering your question but i saw the reference pic and she even mentioned in the journal that we gave her good descriptive desct to work off of. I have seen the reference picutre and it is not your work. However the site she did get it off of no longer works properly. Its the e621.net sight that loading times no longer allow for anyone to view any of the pictures.
And this dose concern me because it is about my mate and about the artist that did these wonderful commissions for us. If you really want to find the picture and wait for the loading times then by all means have at it.

(My reply didn't go to your comment as I thought.)
Alright, I wasn't aware that you were involved with the commissioning process.
I have another question then that you may be able to answer. Was the reference photo found to supplement the character description, or was the description written after the reference image was chosen with changes to what was wanted?
Are you able to link me to the reference image please? I'm aware of one image of my character on e621.net and I'd like to be sure that's the one you speak of.
I've just accessed the site and it seems to be loading fine for me at the moment.
The commission of the grey wolf is complete and I can't do anything about that, but you and your mate are now aware of some of the problems that can arise when choosing to have commissions done that derive inspiration from an existing character. Citing sources or making mention to the source of inspiration are a responsible thing to do and I feel that if it was disclosed from the beginning that not so much of a calamity would have stirred up. It doesn't make the art piece any less special, it just shows honesty on behalf of the artist and/or commissioning party. The closest example I can think of goes back to high school where it was mandatory to cite sources on reports or there would be consequences for plagiarism.
That was just my main concern in this whole thing - honesty in regards to the source material and whether or not it's true that the new character was based off of my own character, just not my own art.

Both me and my mates characters were made before seeing the pictures both of the one ref for my mate and the ref pic i used of Shin's work. I don't have the reference link and I don't know if my mate has it anymore either but i can assure you its not your work. Comparing your work to the pic i remember it is not the same. If you can link the picture you think we coppied i can tell you if it is or is not. I don't have a direct link but i remember it.
Listen me and my mate have been role playing for more then 6 years and we are deeply in a relationship. I was not expecting her to get commmissions for our characters and was wonderfully surprized for the gift. Now im regretting it for all the trouble that it is causing. I ask you please for the love of my mate and for the love i have for this artist to drop the subject. I can assure you 100% that it is not your work. If you don't believe my word or the word of the artist then I don't know how to help you. I feel bad enough as it is with the complication over shin's work. Don't make me feel any worse then i already do.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad and I apologize if anything I've said so far seems at all rude. I'm currently thinking that you're innocent because you weren't the one that asked for the commission and weren't even aware of the it.
I accept and understand that you've said it wasn't my work. I've commissioned and have had my character drawn many times by other artists, so it's very likely it was one of those images. I don't think the one I found on e621.net is the correct one because it was drawn by me and you've confirmed that it wasn't my own work.
I'll send a note to Reno Hidaka to see if she may still have the link or if she can briefly describe it.
As for dropping the subject, I'm pretty sure that you and I have talked things out as much as we can and I'm hoping that this comment expresses that I'm not upset with you whatsoever. If there are any other concerns, I'm sure we can continue in notes privately.
