ah. blackreach was a good deal from what ive heard. but i havent played in so long, and it kills me thinking that theres people picking up this hobby nowadays seeing as ive heard that gw reduced the model count in boxes and jacked the prices like $10-15 extra since i quit (which the original $5 increase was enough to discourage me)
although it would have been nice having those bitz back then. theyve just started making everything in plastic and they continue uping prices; how does that make sense xD

well thats good. i think if they just put their prices down to what they used to be for troops, vehicles, codexes and such, and finished the transfer to plastic theyd probably have WAAAAAY more customers. plus the way they killed all the fun customization in each codex. damn, the newest chaos codex has NOTHING. and now theyre gonna sell the types of chaos legions in seperate codexes.
yes, its true that they did ditch the feral orks and speed freaks seperate book, but they could have just as easily put ALL of those in the same book instead of doing the same thing over again (which i know they will do). look at the previous chaos codex, it has all the main legions and TONS of gear all in the same book. and now you cant play any of them and theyll be released all in seperate books from what i hear.
im sure if they do remake a speedfreaks army or feral orks then it will be in a seperate book. you wont even get the pleasure of the 3 in one armies that come in the armaggedon book (not that an ork player cares about having black temp and salamanders chapters rules :P)
i guess all i can say is that GW keeps trying to make everything more consumer friendly in such a way that everything has become so ass-backwards that i dont even rightfully understand the game anymore. i mean, look at the seperate codex entries now; theres 2 seperate entries for each unit in there. the 3rd edition setup, in that regard made WAY more sense in that you could look at EVERY aspect of the unit in one entry instead of a hassle looking back and forth for the appropriate page, other than wargear, which had ONE simple section of descriptions and another of just point values.
also, the imperial guard 3rd edition had it right: give you army choices and then let you customize the entire force. the newer space marines book tried to emulate that and it was kinda cool to have that bit of change to a once static and boring starter army. logic would tell you that the new chaos codex might take out fixed legions and give you the army benefits chart, but no, that didnt happen.
GW isnt screwing everything up, but they are flipping all the mistakes of one army to another.
-btw, im sorry to rant about all this, it just fires me up ;^^-
