This is the concept I have so far. It's not very far along, and the dress colors are pretty much a placeholder. Maybe less gold? More gradient? Less taffeta? Some kind of tabard? Please make suggestions!
There should probably be some kind of necklace or other jewelry, and I kind of like the idea of putting at least part of his hair up, but I also like how sultry it is when down. He kind of has that "sweet sixteen" look.

Honestly, I do love the design you've come up with. I do think the tabard would be too much, but I do think a simple pendant necklace would work well to fill in that space. Possibly a bit more gradient? I do like the look of the hair down, you do that sultry look well!
