Honestly, I'd take an ol' reliable AKS-74 over a "space magic" AN-94 any day if I was a for-real stalker in the Zone of Alienation. The Nikonov (or "Niko" as I call it) is just a maintenance nightmare to the max! Btw, some mods give it a realistic hyper-burst mode w/1,800 rpm cyclic rate.
Note: Whatever rifle I pack in the Zone, you can bet it'll have a grenade launcher. That way, I can deploy my catchphrase: "It's 40-Miller Time!"

Excellent detail on that AKS-74. All it's missing is a GP-25 so you can say "It's 40-Miller Time!" (in the voice of Tom Atkins from 'Night of the Creeps') right before blasting a super long-jumping "man-eating" snork out of the air with a VOG-25. Or right before fighting a chimera or a pseudogiant.
