OKAY NEXT TIME I FEEL THE URGE TO CREATE A NEW SPECIES I'M GONNA PUNCH MYSELF IN THE FACE BECAUSE I KEEP CREATING STUFF AND NEVER WORKING ON THEM -CRIES-

SO LAST SPECIES I'LL CREATE FOR A WHILE, AND TO DEMONSTRATE THIS IS FOR REAL, I TOOK THE TIME TO GIVE THEM A NAME X'D

I actually had the concept for these little guys a long time ago but never got the time nor the motivation to work on them, and recently I found some sketches of them and decided to remake them and give them an story and purpose since they're so cute ;v;

Background: so basically they're like living plushies, they're supposed to be guardians of the dreams and their work is to fight nightmares and the creatures that produce these. Even though some children books talk about them (often referred as "dream walkers", sometimes as spirits and others as fairies), very little is known about where they come from, however they are not "born" but "crafted" by another being (referred as "the Artisan" and in some cases speculated to be the "Sandman"), then they're brought to life by the use of magic. After some training on how to use their powers they're given their cloaks which they can manipulate with magic, from that moment they never take off their cloaks, since these give them protection, only exception is when it's damaged and need to be patched up (this can be made by themselves or other beings).

Physical appearance and general details: They're smol (roughly the size of a teacup, 8-10 cm approx.), they're plushies so they're made of cotton and can be sewed, they can live until run out of magic or damaged severely (in both cases can only be fixed by the Artisan), they feed on the nightmares they catch and positive emotions, however they can eat some other food though only for the taste since regular food doesn't give them the magic energy they need (there are also some type of special food created with magic that can serve both purposes). Appearance is diverse, several traits can be present in their species.

Abilities: as stated before, their abilities are completely based on the use of magic. They can cast magic spells for diverse purposes such as catch hostile energies, create dreams and make others fall asleep, among others.

Weapons: these can be varied and depending on their specialties. Their default weapon is a magic needle that allows them to sew dream gaps to prevent the passing of nightmares (nightmares work as an infection, once they're in they start to spread by consuming the dream, this is why the needle is one of their most important tool). Other weapons can be crystals (allows them to catch the nightmares inside these, can also be used a dreamcatcher), threads used mostly for immobilization/containment, books that allows them to change the growth of the nightmares and turn these into dreams, etc

Classes: The Tailor, specialized in the use of the magic needle
The Catcher, specialized in the use of crystals/gems/dreamcatchers
The Holder, specialized in the use of threads
The Librarian, specialized in the use of books/scrolls
