Since commissions have been slow, I've been working on some personal projects to challenge myself. It has been awhile since I've taken on such a large piece, and the mirror effect was an interesting challenge to take on.
This piece went through some thought changes, going from a heaven/hell concept with angels and demons to the brothers of the sun and moon. Original color scheme was going to be a white wolf with blue background and a black wolf with a red background. A kind of tip off to "Off White" (off-white.eu/), however I felt that that color scheme has been too over used.
I have used a similar technique that has been mastered by Golden Wolf (www.goldenwolfen.com/site/). I love her work and hope to master her technique. I do not care to copy her style, because I believe that is her gift to the art community. This is my truly second attempt to copy the technique, even though I have been using a version of her technique for the last two years. I love the affect it gives to a piece, even if it does require to re-layer the same area 2-4 times with different colors while only using small strokes of the prismacolor pencil. It is very tedious work, lol!
I wanted to take a second to say thanks for those who commented on a preview for suggestions. I've thought about every suggestion and either used or tossed out for one reason or another. Hope y'all enjoy the final product!
