ive been slowly transitioning over to Bio-active herp keeping for the past few months now, and im finnaly at a point where results are showing <3
noodle has a nice plush moss bedded cave that is his absolute favorite hidey hole. im aiming to get another jungle bulb to ensure optimal plant health. the great thing about these tanks are that they self sustain. all you need to do is waterchange, and occasional misting for upkeep. the clean up crew bugs eat all sheddings and poops and keep it clean for you!
not to mention the enriching environment for my ballpython <3
most of what you see in the tank i hunted for in my own yard/woods. the only thing i didnt gather myself is the fern, the cork bark, and the ivy. i scout out my own woodlice too c: they are all over my area
*DISCLAIMER*
i do not want unsolicited reptile advice.
bio-active keeping is a legitimate method of reptile husbandry
all his needs are met
he is fat and happy.
i dont need a lecture from any sterile newspaper/paper towel/aspen reptile keepers.

frikken awesome <3333 ..my sis is super into vivariums and paladariums (sp?) but no living critter in hers yet..but for my friends crested gecko cage we did a huge thing like this for them..alas we never found the eggs before babies were crawling around XD. they didnt use the egg spot we made them. lil ninjas so good at that. But they made so many babies and they all hatched.. was great for them.
Seriously this is natural and better.. good moisture for shedding, comfy for them, and when done right is perfect for eggs and such. As long as you avoid substrates that impact and use things that can pass through just fine, then there is no issues so..people need not be bitches about it. The happiest herps i've known get super cool environments like this.
Plus..pet plants as well.. (I adore moss and bamboo and stuffs.. <3 and succulents but theyre separate)
