Yeah, I often think that the original design is when he was a child but some of the drawings show him as an adult

Yeah, don't remind me. Honestly, I want him to be on something more honorable than where I found him but it probably means breaking a few copyright laws to do so.

That's the reason why they got rid of him- lack of popular demand. Though the people who hold his rights never thought that one Furry would find him to be really cool.

Not a clue. I scanned the design, hoping to find the creator on FA but no such luck, if I just keep creating my own drawings and buying commissions, I'll assume ownership of the character.

Yes, but for a found piece of art, I would definitely have to say as a connoisseur of Furry art, the original designs are really good.
