So I recently filled a hole in my collection with Lunar Legend of the GameBoy Advance, the third re-telling of the original Lunar; Silver Star Story for the SegaCD. Personally I got most aquainted with the series with it's re-release on the Playstation in which it was a nice breath of fresh air after how cold the Final Fantasy series had left me at that point. Working Designs for it's flaws could never be faulted for a lack of effort in their translations and managed to give every character their own voice and character in the story (although dating themselves quite often in the process, in some cases quite unfortunately).
The GBA version is instead translated by Ubisoft, while it has admirable attempts at instilling the same amount of character often fails on what is either questionable translations (either being too language stringent or just being lazy about letter/character limitations) but also does not fail to feel as equally dated in some areas (referencing The Macarena... seriously?)
Round about to the subject of this picture though, it seems this particular nugget of the story about the rather *cough* unfortunate origin of Dragon Diamonds still holds true in all the translations I've played so far (which is rather interesting for being a throw-away gag and not at all integral in and of itself to the story). You wouldn't doubt Ramus wouldn't mint this for all it's worth though.
Lunar, Nall, and related elements property of GameArts Japan.

The PSP is really the way to go for Lunar. It finally looks like a cutting-edge RPG rather than the generic 16-bit refugee it so closely resembled on other systems. People have complained about the load times but they really weren't a big deal for me. The vastly improved graphics, on the other hand, make a big difference.
You'd probably have to judge that for yourself. It's been a while since I've played the game, actually. I keep getting sidetracked with stuff; you know how it goes.
$300 PSP? Good lord, man! I bought a Go for like, $15 months ago! (Wound up selling it to Momo. Sure wish she'd USE it...)

This might help. Spoiler alert: it's the fight against Ghaleon, but I doubt you're going to see anything that'll surprise you.

You'll definitely notice a bump up in visual quality, that much I can tell you.

Overthinking the science of dragon diamonds I imagine that what waste Nall would produce would not be nearly enough to make a diamond, which itself I imagine inside someone the size of Quark would either somehow be produced after the fact or else would be hyper-compressed inside of him from carbon collected over a prolonged dietary period (likely over a span of several months depending on the quantity of other physical nutrition he needs were he not sustained by the Goddess' magic or other theoretical sustenance)
If that is the case, then it would seem that the normal limitations of regular diapers are insufficient to handle dragon diamonds, as they might tare or rip under a full load. There may be specialized diapers to both contain in all regards and facilitate the productions of dragon diamonds, in any case it would be a lot of grunt work for a little crystal.
I wouldn't think so. I doubt Nall would be able to produce sufficient mass that would cause immediate failure of any normal diaper he would be wearing. As for any diamonds he could produce (under the assumption they are made inside his immature body) they likely would amount to no larger than specks and tiny flakes at best, and I would assume small enough they would have escaped notice for so long anyway (otherwise he'd be famous for more than being a cat that can talk and fly)
Maturity would be a likely factor, if significant may have to the development of and accumulation of magic power gradually condensing into a crystalline lattes within the digestive tract. While the environment of the dragon's digestive tract allow the proper conditions of dragon diamond formation, it is possible that it is purely coincidental in origin, given that it is likely that dragon diamond need to broken and expelled from the body to prevent internal harm to the dragon. Another possible factor is that a mass/volume variable is in place as such all dragons would produce dragon diamonds but below a certain mass/volume level any dragon diamonds fail to crystallize, break down or expelled with waist or through flatus before they can attain a stable mass.
This could make a bit of sense. Perhaps as dragons grow to be more mature it relies more on magic for sustenance as a strictly carbon diet would not be enough to maintain such a large body. Magic burns through what little carbon is there and leaves behind the aforementioned crystalline by-product, That would possibly explain why Quark is able to produce diamonds the size of Ramus's head while Nall's own production would be minimal to the point of in-noticability at best.
Good point, that would explain how dragon are able to survive with deep caverns, as they aren't known for being fertile environments. Leaving the question if dragons are able to subside entirely on magic alone, regardless of maturity, as the dragon grown it would need larger caves with a greater magic density to survive. Now as for the carbon, either they consume what little carbon based life they encounter of there is a mechanism that transfers carbon in any form from the cardio vascular system to the digestive tract. Either that or there's some third method I don't know about.
