"Thanks for walking me back, Jake." Matthew smiled and opened the door to his room.
"Matthew, I didn't walk you back entirely to be kind." Jake said "I men, I was being kind and You're a true friend, but I needed to ask you something."
"Ask what?" Matthew closed the door again.
"What really happened back there?" Jake asked "I'm blind but I can see into other's minds, and I didn't see Matthew back there. I saw another monster fighting that thing."
"It was just me when I'm angry." Matthew said
"Will that work with him though?" Lass asked
"Doubt it, he probably hears our thoughts now." Brian said "I think the jig is up."
"You don't get mad." Jake said "I know that wasn't you back there. Matthew, is something wrong?"
"You mean besides that I killed someone?" Matthew opened the door to his room and started walking into his room "Good night, Jake."
"Matthew, wait." Jake reached out a hand as where his eye was "Please, I want to help you. Can't we just talk? Maybe in the morning?"
"He knows." Brian said "He just wants us to be able to say it."
"Should we though?" Lass asked "Do we really want him to risk his life with this?" she then let out a faint yawn.
Matthew stood halfway in the door, he debated the offer, but his head still wasn't able to decide. "Good night, Jake." And he closed the door.
"Yeah, Maybe we'll figure things out in the morning." Brian smiled, then yawned himself
Looking back at the door Matthew side again, and when he turned around, The First grabbed him and pinned him against the door. Eyes cold, dark, and dead. A gasping snarl as he crooked jaw opened with rotting, bloody, teeth, and then he lunged.
