Featuring the hit songs Leap, Drop Dead Paws, Hot For 'Tani, Lioness Gone Bad, and Den of Pain!...
Okay, for anyone who knows the original album and cringed at those puns, I sincerely apologize. Anyway, this is another one of those casual humorous pictures I wanted to make, purely for fun. It's my Lion King-take on the classic Van Halen album, simply titled '1984'. Many consider it to be one of the band's best albums to date, some even putting it above their debut one. With so many great songs on it, it's not hard to see why. This is the original album cover if you haven't seen it: http://blackbirdsfly.com/2015/10/co.....an-halen-jump/
While looking at that cover one day, I thought it might be cute to do a TLK version of it, since I'm apparently crossover trash now. Cub Simba seemed like a good candidate for who could be put in it, and once I imagined the thought of him being there, there was no going back. Although I had to admit: Young Simba smoking a cigarette with angel wings on a Van Halen cover was the last thing I would've expected to be drawing 6 months ago.
Even the title was actually a deliberate pun on the album. Since the original is called 1984, and the first Lion King was released in 1994, exactly 10 years later, it made sense to name it that. Once again, my apologies to anyone who cringed at the puns.
