He looks like he's reflecting on his previous endeavors up until this point. He's worn out, not really sure if the effort is worth it, he's debating whether or not to go on. But at the same time he's curious about this world, the occurrence which is unfolding as his adventure continues. It's too late to stop now, but all this death, doom, and gloom is making is extremely hard on him.
That's what I get when looking at this piece. It may not be the case, but...it's what I see. Maybe he's contemplating whether or not to leave the bonfire? What if he takes two steps and then gets a blood red, "You Died," no sooner than he does? Because, when he does die, it makes him feel more and more detached from himself? Makes him feel like his body is a mere shell than it is his?
Yet again you've stunned me with a piece of your artwork. Stunned in a good way of course. You've always got some kind of story to tell with every piece you submit. No matter how small or big, the emotion is well displayed and makes the viewer wonder what exactly is going on. :o You really do have a gift, and you're using it well!
