Sad. Short. Simple. The story gives rather little about anything, the main character and the cheetah are unnamed, and the story doesn't tell anything about their background. What the story does, it describes one feeling, one moment, and it does this very well, the one scene in the story is rather strong. In a way, the short story is perfect in its own simpleness, just describing one feeling into words, and thus immortalizing it. Very interesting little piece, I enjoyed reading this very much. Good work.
At first I thought you meant the smiley as opposed to the little short I wrote. I didn't realize that was what you meant. I was just putting the smiley there to let you know I read it; though, I could have put, "Thanks for the comment." or something instead (the other reply I did really didn't need the smiley but at the time I happened to just stick it on there out of habit). I also started thinking about it and figured it was kind of one of those, author-to-author courtesies, to put the reply in words instead of smileys. I'm a common guy, with a simple hobby. A novice author, if you will. I probably should have realized it was a given courtesy to put words instead.
Now, in the right place!
Quite interesting. Begs but one question- HOW and WHY did he lose her? Is he to blame?
Remarkable piece as short as it is. I think this might have been more "clear" and hit closer to home and to current events if the plane had gone down and he really, truly had lost her. But your version is cool too :)

Ah, I thought so as well. I know that most individuals wouldn't pass up on a look at something different in their environment (a door opening in a classroom, a siren outside), so I tried to think up more of what was going on around him; aaaaand I added the old 'coon in there because it reminded me of some elderly people I know, lol. Thanks on the comment.
