3 months, 1 week after Bellwether's arrest:
In the afternoon, the scene opens with the intro of the ZNN title and theme. Peter Moosebridge was the first to make his introduction followed by his snow leopard co-anchor.
“Good evening, I'm Peter Moosebridge.”
“And I'm Fabienne Growley . Welcome to the twelve o'clock afternoon report.”
The camera cuts to Peter as an image of Lionheart fades in on the screen to his left. “After a long and reasonable debate in court, former Mayor Leodore Lionheart will see his early release from prison, as well as an added bonus I might add.”
The camera then turns to Fabienne. “Indeed Peter,” she said with a smile “As we all know, over 3 months ago, Dawn Bellwether was found guilty of being the cause of the outbreak of savage animals in Zootopia. A crime that Lionheart was accused of being a part of and was also arrested for having been the cause of their disappearances not long after turning savage. But as a large portion of the city's population has agreed upon and has since spread across the city, Lionheart was apparently in his right to capture and imprison them.” An image of a paused video file, with a female brown bear, appears to her right on the screen. “As it is clearly shown by the families and friends of the victims.”
The paused video expanded to fit the whole screen and began to play. “After seeing what had happened to my husband, I'm glad Lionheart locked him up. Had he have unintentionally hurt someone from that terrible Night Howler toxin, he'd never be able to live with himself. Those cells weren't cages, they were shields. Not just for other animals, but for themselves.”
The video then cut to a male snow leopard. “Have you seen the strength and ferociousness they showed when they went savage? My sister is smaller and younger than me and she could never be as strong as I am. But after what happened to her she could take on three of me. Where else were they going to put her to keep her safe and away from others?”
The video cut to Mrs. Otterton. “What I saw was not my Emmitt when they relocated him and the others. Lionheart was doing everything in his power to find a way to bring my husband and the others back from their savage affliction. No one should ever have to see someone they love become something like that.”
The video ended and the camera cuts back to Moosebridge. “Thanks to a popular vote from that large percentage of the citizens and a long battle in court, soon-to-be reinstated Mayor of Zootopia Leodore Lionheart will be permitted to serve for a six month long term until he is set for a mandatory retirement on the last day of the sixth month.” The camera cut outward to show both anchors as an image of a male jaguar appeared in-between them. “His reinstatement will take place tomorrow at City Hall, where Acting Mayor Alexander Jaguarez will step down and take back his position as City Council President. But a lot of animals believe he'll be back in the Mayor's office again once Lionheart has served his permitted short term. And I'm sure a lot of animals also agree that Lionheart will do everything he can to make sure he leaves his proper mark that he knows the city will want to have once he's gone.”
Fabienne then began to speak with a mild surprising tone in her voice.“Speaking of Mr. Jaguarez; how ironic is it to think that the one to temporarily take over as Mayor would also be from the same hometown as our hero cop Judy Hopps?”
“I like to think it's more of a coincidence Fabienne,” he said with a joking smile on his face, “But it is amazing to think that animals from the town of Bunnyburrow, all the way out in the country, have had such an impact on the suburban lives of the animals here in Zootopia. Makes me wonder what other animal from that nice farmland will do for the city when they arrive here.”
Fabienne chuckled a little and smiled back at Moosebridge. “We may never know Peter. But I can say for sure that Miss Hopps and her partner, and second hero to the city Nick Wilde, are keeping the city safe from all manner of harm right now."
