The first game is sooooo good I've beaten it a bajillion times but yeah man I've heard that the pc version (I have it on the 360) is super tricky without a controller/gamepad ):

Well, you'll have an easier time understanding the control prompts in the tutorial area, if nothing else...

Still, I found it is quite serviceable with mouse and keyboard. But then, I seem to have a pretty high tolerance for poor control schemes...

i want to finish all three games, one after one (I love the grim, heavy atmosphere), but i have to get the damn controler first :D not like it's going to help me, but i just can't stand playing with a keyboard and a mouse.

try a PlayStation 3 controller. You can use a program to make it read as a gamepad. I played for my first 800 hours with kb+m because the Xbox controller hurts my hands.

Also yoy may have heard this but you can probably skip 2? all the good conten is dlc, director is different so less , and the gameplay mechanics are different from 1 and 3 so much its a kick in the teeth moving between them. 2 does have some fun features in the pvp but most people are playing the pvp in Bloodborne or DS3 by now

If you want you can summon me for bosses, though. I still have DS1 installed ;D

I'm about to try the xbox controller today :0 thankfully there's an option to change the controller for another one if xbox one wont work for me.

i actually haven't heard that :0 but i noticed that in DS2 using mouse and keyboard is way easier than in DS1.

god DS2 was what made me start using a controller.

also, yes, that's one of the core features of the game. DS1 is so old at this point you're likely not going to see any summon signs or invasions because of the small player activity on the servers but the some of the NPCs you meet can be summoned. you must be in human form to see the summon signs.

okay, it's WAY EASIER with a controller. I'm still trying to grasp the game, but for such a short time i played it, it really can keep you on the edge of your seat.

that's one of the great things about yhe series along with the design. you have to be strategic about how you proceed more than any other rpg. the mechanics have to be discovered with play testing rather than be explained. I will say that equipment upgrades will help more than levels will. Try out as many weapons as you can!

The first one after the Asylum/prison, in the very beginning because the undead assholes keep punching me in the face lmao but I WILL SURVIVE, I'm slowly getting how to fight and not to be slapped in the face... I even managed to kill one duder with a crit from behind!
