Sooooo I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's Day.
*Reasons in this order
(A): It's very commercial... it lacks meaning in most cases now.
(B): Sooooooo many couples don't get along that it makes no sense. Couple is team... balance... evolved friendship... that's how I see relationships. I don't believe in making one another suffer. But anyways... one day out of the year... those bickering couples celebrate valentine's day... WTF... if you hate each other why would you celebrate a day of love... because you think you have to? If you actually loved each other... one day a year shouldn't bring your heart out. I'm not saying that you have to be mushy all year... but respect and bond is good. Small tokens are sweet even if it's a doodle of a smiley face (for people detailed oriented like me even doodles are sweet... random and adorable).
©: When you are in elementary, your teacher gives you a list so you can make a card for everyone. Sweet... promotes heart and kindness, right? Yes, but it also sets you up for disappointment. In junior high and high schools it's a competition to get little pieces of paper that mean nothing but "ooooh you're more popular than the other". They actually sell them at school and interrupt each class to pass them out. If you, at the end of the day... don't receive one... then you are dubbed a loser.
(D): I've never had one... :P... but see the first three are VERY reasonable.
So to those out there who need lovin'... here you go. And to the one I like... happy valentines day... here you go.
