
This is old... I made it in 2006-2007 for one of my senior pieces (my thesis was on mythical creatures). It took me about six months to complete but like 5 seconds to break :(. It was made from stone clay, plastercaste, sculpey, acrylic fibers, peacock feathers, moss paint, and dyed yak hair. It was my baby and weight about 40 pounds and had an awkward size... so it was a bitch to carry. I was removing it from a show... (idiotically trying to do it alone) and when I set it in my car I was an inch or so off and didn't know. When I closed the car door it was pretty much dead. I had snapped its neck and it was pretty much like the domino affect after that since each scale was hand cut and placed on separately. I was so torn and hurt I was pretty much dumbstruck for a months... I didn't want to look at it. I tried to craft ways to put it back together but every time it moved something else would fall off. So utterly broken hearted I had to trash it. People pleaded for me not to... to try and fix it again... but all I could do was beg them to help me get it to a dumpster. So this is a RIP...
