I really wanted to do this to show the stages of one of my works until the pic is finally finished.
.as you can see and all you already know everything start simple with just an sketch, i always scan my sketches to show my friends the progress and receive critics and suggestions also i have noticed that you miss things when you work in a sketchbook and have the pic scanned gives you an overall view of your future work.
. Now the inks the part that i enjoy the most of the whole work, it could be a mess if youre not careful and it really can take a while to finish but in the end all the work is worthy, i use oil markers and pigment liners to ink all my pics, i dont use tablet or something to work with the lines and i dont know why people sometimes are surprised to see that i ink my pics in the old way, it really took me a while to learn how to work with the inks and i dont want to waste all that.
.Now that i have scanned the inked pic i use photoshop to clean the lines and work with the curves a bit to make a messy pic look clean and ready to work, i know too well that im far to be a pro in photoshop specially because the things i know i had to learn for myself, friends helps me with tips and suggestions but its more like a work of trial and error.
. It usually takes me a couple of hours to finish a pic like this (of course it depends of how big and difficult could be) as you already know sometimes i use RL photos for the backgrounds of my pics, but its not as simple as search in google for the image something i have to use more than 4 different photos cut, drop, paint things to make it look better, sometimes it takes me more time to finish a BG than the characters on it, but i dont like to depend on that and im always trying new things to make a pic look better and colorful.
And thats all thank you for take your time to read this and i hope you enjoy my work and the things to come. hugs to all

:) yeah, i know one friend's way since he prefers to color in photoshop is to ink on a piece of tracing paper or vellum, then scan that in so he keeps the original pencil sketch intact incase he needs to change it. i never got used to my tablet (before my dogs ATE my pen) i still prefer to use my mouse when i color.
It's always great to get a chance to see an artist's work like this, Rackun! Thanks for the description too, it's really interesting to hear how you can do so much to make a great picture. It's neat that you do classic inking as well. I recently got a chance to see
vincinicolaides in over ustream and it's a lot more complex than I had thought it was. Knowing that now I can say I think you clean up your sketches very well for the ink, and you do a great job balancing the lines with various thickness.
I think this shows how well your highlights and shading compliment your color work too you can definitely see all the base work in the third image, but you really do a good job with blending and it really adds a lot of death to the appearance.
Thanks for sharing your work Rackun, it's really great to see how you work. Hope you have a happy St. Valentine's Day. ^^

I love your characters but...
You should really draw your own backgrounds. I used the same technique before, and, finally, i didn't like it....I statrted to paint my own background...it's more personal, technique, and give a really better aspect.
But that's my point of view.

Yeah, i know about that don't worry ^^
I have porn sketches with more favs than ones with colors and background. It's sometimes annoying, when you spent a lot of time on a pic and see that a quick sketch is more popular :/
No, the real deal here, is to be satisfied by your own work. And if you think that your pics are good enough with photos, that's ok ^^
