(Reup as first one didn't play for some reason)
I bought myself a mid range condenser mic over the weekend, and I just got it today and thought I'd test it out. I'm really loving this mic so far, its the first actual quality mic I own and I love it's response and warmth.
As for the song, it's an old southern sacred harp piece, David Tibet and folk covered it five or six times in Black Ships Ate The Sky, and since I've heard it I've loved it. This one is based off the Pantaleimon version, which is absolutly beautiful.
Also that isn't noise from the mic, my room isn't sound proofed or even remotely quiet at all, and this mic picks up anything.
Idumaea
And am I born to die?
And lay this body down
And must my trembling spirit fly
Into a world unknown
A land of deeper shade
unpierced by human thought
The dreary region of the dead
Where all things are forgot
Soon as from earth I go
What will become of me?
Eternal happiness or woe
Must then my fortune be
A waked by the trumpets sound
I from my grave shall rise
And see the judge with glory crowned
And see the flaming skies.
