Wow...it's nice to see something with layers of thought and emotion in it, actual depth. Seeing nothing but porn (as awesome as some of it is) just gets old, we need more pictures like this methinks.

This is almost exactly perfect widescreen dimentions. The stretching to fill the screen isn't even noticeable.

(1280x800 is the resolution of my screen. It's difficult to find good wallpapers for - this'll be there for quite a long time)

Did you apply a different coloring technique on this piece?

Not really a different coloring technique, but a different mark making technique. First off This piece was done entirely in Photoshop, which is actually a rarity for me. Brushes in PS work very differently than say painter or Artrage (what i'm used to), which try to emulate real media. I used a custom brush to create the entire image. All of background is mostly pointillism, with exception of mountains. Mostly is a play with opacity when I am making the brushstrokes.

Too bad its a Commission. I'd buy a print of that. I think making the stem longer and adding a few thorns to the rose might be a nice added touch to the detail. I really like the pointillism you used in the background. I'd think it would be interesting to see a whole piece with just that style. Great job.

Sometimes I wonder. You plant a seed and watch the weeds grow clinging and clasping at the flora you sowed. As soon as you look away, it is lost to the wild. Interesting title. I believe I personally would have went with "The Love that Never Was". There is a certain level of impact there, especially mirrored in his expression since he looks equally regretful as sad. Not sure if that was your intent.



Anyway, you really went at it on the setting. I thought you were going to do something moderately simple, but you ran with with. Perspective and all.
