i don't knwo what a thursday prompt is, but i liked this story a lot.

the thursday prompt is something that  poetigress does. once a week, on thursday she posts a writing prompt on her journal, it could be a word, a phrase or an image, as was the case for this one. and Writers are invited to just write something that was inspired by it.

l like the tone of this. It's a quiet piece and you get the feeling the argument between Humphrey and his wife is an old continuing one and like many couples that have been together for a long time that the strong emotions have been worn down a little and may not ever be acted on.

Interesting. Slice-of-life. Charming. Now, I know the themes are pretty heavy in this piece, a farm that is less and less profitable every year and man and wife getting bored of it all and each other, but your style and choose of words make this really an entertaining read. I really enjoyed reading this, it has a lot of down-to-earth attitude and taste of reality. Very good story, I was entertained. Good work.
