Patrick Mercer is the Prototype and prime wielder of the Blacklight Virus that he helped create with gentek many years ago. Imprisoned by them as a test subject when a co-worker accidentally dropped the vial containing it on him and mutating into the powerful being with the markings of the virus showing on his tail and ears.

Despite this he would eventually escape his imprisonment and start a light as an accused bio terrorist by them for several years up until meeting the Dark Clone Kouki Oyadama(Later to marry as husband and wife) and joined the ranks of Poketsuki Ultima where he was imbued with the mistletoe curse by Satsujin Uchiha to be undyingly loyal due to his power posing a threat.

It was hear when two rivalries who be made against Nayias Saiyajin who he rivaled his full power making him one of the most powerful Pokemon on the earth. The second being with the prime Conduit Charles MacGrath also known as Infamous during the Poketsuki War where Kouki was betrayed and killed by Satsujin causing him to lash out switching sides and aiding Oturan Uzumaki and Kazuya Uchiha in their fight against the transformed Satsujin Uchiha.

Bringing his wife back by infecting her with the full strain of Blacklight and returning home to the child they made Alessa Mercer and since then have had a second kid and have improved their relationship with the Saiyajin family to somewhat friend-ally area.

Though things would for awhile be peaceful for them as Blackwatch and gentek died off, a powerful adversary known as Contagion stole his Blacklight from storage and created a group with it having fallen into the wrong paws and the D.U.P. run by Autumn Augustine and Harmonie Augustine pose a big threat to Conduit and Blacklight Users by convincing the world they are bio terrorists ansd dictate them to be sheltered in their prison.
