Back in the 1990s, I had held two separate jobs at two printing facilities: one in Baldwin, New York (during the early years of that decade) and one in Delray Beach, Florida (in the later years). And although I was assigned to cut and paste various forms of 'clip art' for advertisements (for local newspapers), I would occasionally be asked to try my hand at rendering my own artwork for some ads...
The following image (which I'd recently rediscovered, while 'Spring Cleaning' in my Margate, Florida condo) is one of those rare ad images I'd drawn (instead of using 'clip art')...
A veterinarian from a local animal clinic needed some artwork to promote his establishment, and I was more than happy to comply (though, in retrospect, I don't remember if that vet ever used my artwork at all).
For my comic gag, I simply had a human pet owner try to take her dog and two cats to the veterinarian for a check-up - but the four-legged trio have other ideas!
