Years ago, when I'd rendered my alternate feline 'fursona' in the "Hurricane Wilma: T-Shirt" gag - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3943583/ - I'd thought that this sketch was the original inspiration for my proposed comic series "Front & Back" (in which my 'fursona' wore a T-shirt with a message on both sides; and years later, I had a 'fat furry' version with my fat ursine character 'Bor-Bor Bear')... but I was wrong!
Once again, during my obligatory 'Spring Cleaning' regimen, I came across an earlier drawing - from the year 2002 - of a corpulent character sporting a tee with a message on both sides. In this case, the character was
Tolstoy, and the scenario found the burly bruin in lower Manhattan, where he'd visited Wall Street and its financial district. Keep in mind that 2002 was the year when a new 'Recession' was taking place (under the 'Dubya' Administration), and the Stock Market had occasional plummets - which, monetarily-speaking, was referred to as the 'bear market'! So, I just had to render NYC tourist Tolstoy in a 'bear market' gag!
I hope to create and post all new "Front & Back: FFE" gags with other 'fat furry' characters from some of the other "FA" contributors (wearing tees with special messages of my own design), later this year...
