the sound of the motorcycle fills the room as data displays a wire mesh layout of the city passing by. The blonde jackal, Rehme, sips from coffee as she watches the monitors. She leans forward to continue recording.
"Subject Cai has been on the road for almost two hours. His external appearance has become slightly darker, and his clothing has grown skin tight. During this trip, the Cytrix has re appropriated almost 70 percent of Cai's brain functions. prioritizing its own processes but curiously leaving his sense of self intact. It's weird. every time Cai's mental pattern tries to totally destabilize, the Cytrix reconstructs it. As if it WANTS Cai to keep thinking through the whole process. My guess is that it's trying to build its personality around the subject, but there's a part of me that thinks it likes the idea of molding Cai to think as it prefers. dominating him instead of possessing him. Maybe I shouldn't have installed that ambition algorithm..."
The Cytrix's telemetry starts to light up. the wiremesh painting the city is now higher in detail, and other new data is being processed. Texture, sensations, taste, touch. Things it normally wouldn't have the equipment to experience.
"It looks like we're nearing the final stage of synchronization."
