Once again, I'm a little behind schedule in posting my 'photo-ops' on "Throwback Thursday" (and the recent "Fur Affinity" crash on Tuesday, May 17th didn't help my situation, either). Nevertheless, I'll try to present some more interesting digital photography, taken by my brother Glenn (with the camera on his smartphone), for my latest 'sweeps month' (May, 2016)...
On past outings, Glenn and I would visit nature parks - such as Fern Forest (in Coconut Creek) and Sawgrass Recreational Park (out in the Everglades); but last Sunday (May 15th), my bro and I went out to a totally different park: Sawgrass Nature Center (in westernmost Coral Springs, Florida), where we got to see a lot of wildlife (both local and foreign). And even though "Be Kind To Animals Week" was honored a few weeks ago, this park celebrates the occasion every Sunday, with a live exhibition of one (or more) of the fauna they keep in captivity. (Sometimes, it's one of the rescued animals from their own hospital; and other times, it's an animal safely kept in its own enclosure.)
On this particular Sunday, Glenn and I were too late to see a live presentation (by one of its park rangers) of an albino rat snake; but we eventually saw it in its indoor enclosure at the station. We also saw lots of other reptiles and amphibian critters (including alligators, lizards, pythons, etc.). One of the more active indoor animals (that Glenn took a picture of) was that of a red rat snake...
I'll have two more snapshots from Sawgrass Nature Center (of mammals) shortly...
