Continuing my (belated) "Throwback Thursday" presentation, here is one more 'photo-op' taken at the Sawgrass Nature Center in Coral Springs, Florida (by my brother Glenn with the digital camera on his smartphone)...
Even though the raccoons we saw - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20033443/ - caught everyone's eye, the real attention-grabbers to my sibling were a trio of prairie dogs in their own separate cage. Glenn enjoyed seeing them come up to him, as one of them climbed up the screen of one of the enclosure's walls, followed by the screen door (where the ranger [and her assistants] would usually enter to provide food and fresh water for the threesome). My bro was so amazed that one of the prairie dogs could scale the screen so fast and so high (nearly to human eye level), that he whipped out this smartphone camera and caught this 'Kodak moment' in mere seconds!
(Said prairie dogs were, at one time, somebody's pets, but eventually couldn't raise them anymore, and gave them to the nature park - where they could be better taken care of. The enclosure alone - twice the size of an ordinary human's bedroom - had plenty of dirt for the trio to dig underground tunnels... but not too deeply for any attempts to escape its confines.)
In case you'd missed the two previous 'photo-ops' taken at the Sawgrass Nature Center, here are the links to them again:
