RollerBlitz, a mix of Pro-Wrestling, Roller derby, Roller hockey, motocross, and rugby (or football). A full contact game where not 2, not 3, but 4 of many RB league teams compete on a banked figure eight track. the track had 1 railing, 1 climbable wall, 2 ramps, 4 infields for all 4 teams, and 4 team goals and starting lines for the skaters also 4 small starting lines for the riders behind them. the game follows a 4 Quarter game. it starts with the 5 skaters and 4 riders behind their designated starting line.
once the first signal is sounded off the skaters all scurry around the track. then the second signal blares and the bike riders also scramble through the track, then finally another batch of skaters join the track until themselves and the entire pack of teams are all mixed up swarming around the track. then a leather rugby/football shaped ball is shot through a giant air-cannon mortar and lands on the track where the skaters must get the ball, then fight and skate their way to their own teams starting line and throw it in their own goal earning them 3 points on the scoreboard. there is also other point scoring methods such as taking down a skater or rider which is 1 point, performing a successful ramp jump 1 point, climbing the wall 2 points, the four competing teams will have to win by these goals necessary.
each team has 15 players each. all genders can compete. 8 skaters, 7 riders. if a player is way too injured to compete on the track. the refs will raise a caution flag for the skaters and riders to slowdown and stay clear of the injured player and the ball carrier will have to stay put until the injured player is evacuated from the track to either the medical room or their teams infield to get treated by the medic. the game resumes with the team down a man until he or she returns recovered from the injury and back the track. if an entire team is injured. they will have to forfeit from the quarter and return next quarter with its all players recovered.
Skaters will skate around the track to either get the ball, pursue the carrier, or to hinder other players on the track preventing them from getting the ball carrier. one Skater is given the role of carrier once they gain possession of the ball. opposing players must make the said carrier fumble the ball by any physical means so they gain possession of ball and fight their way through the track til they reach their team starting line and throw or put the ball in the goal. all Skaters can use any fighting style on the track from karate to wrestling to defend themselves from or attack opposing players. but also some skaters can have a gimmick, skill, or ability that acts as a game changer giving them an edge in the game.
Riders drive motorbikes on the track. they have a metal tow bar on the back of their bikes where their own team skaters can grab on to and either gain enough speed so they can climb the wall or to advance to any part of the track. enemy skaters or riders can still knock the riders off their bikes, but they can still fight back against them such as punches, kicks, or back of the head clotheslines. 5 each team is allowed on the track on the start of the game
both Skaters and Riders can have custom helmets and uniforms. but still must have their designated team colors and styles.
despite how hard hitting and furious it can be. the game itself can still have rules and penalties that can be enforced by the referees such as a skater who have became carrier who have passed their designated starting line and goal while have possession of the ball are not allowed to skate in reverse to their team starting line and goal they must go through the entire track til they reach their teams starting line, attempted attacks on a injured player will not be tolerated, attempted fatalities on any player is also not acceptable. too much concealed equipment (5 items or less allowed) , another player fighting his or her own teammate definitely a no. if the player is penalized for one of these conducts he or she will have to spend two-minute in their team's infield until the time has passed they can get back on the track.
the game concludes with the one of the team out of the competing 4 with the most point is declared a victor
the teams competing in this game:
Houston Lonestars (orange and black) vs. L.A Rangers (blue and white) vs. NY Bronx Brawlers (black and yellow) vs. jacksonville Hazards (light green and tea green)

As a sport in real life, unlikely. As a sports video game, maybe. I have been drawing concept art on Rollerblitz for a quite while since 2016. Currently been working on team's logos.
However, Roller SuperBall which was played in Argentina by the International Roller Skating League in the mid-80s, and my friend's project, Rollerwars is mostly the closest thing you can get to Rollerball and Rollerblitz becoming real, minus Rollerball's motorbikes, steel ball, and spike gloves of course.

That's interesting. I didn't know about the IRSL playing Roller SuperBall in Argentina, but that's something I should have heard about because I had a college professor (who has since been fired in spite of people doing organized protests) who had obsessions with roller derby. When there was no work to be done, he made us watch it.
Well, you won't be able to find footage of those games anytime soon, however, a former roller derby CEO told me on facebook how the game was played, Roller SuperBall added a silver painted softball and a lit goal at one end of the track. There was a speed race at the beginning of each period to determine who would have possession of the ball at the beginning of each period. The same sixty-second jams, the only difference was one jammer had the ball. If he or she passed members of the opposing team, they would then be eligible to score those points IF they could then get the ball into the lit goal at the end of the track.

Yeah, Roller SuperBall kind of played out as an American football or rugby game on wheels. I think it could have been its own sport and not just a special game played exclusively by a roller derby league.
Now, my friend from the UK's project Rollerwars, is kind of close to RSB and Rollerball, but does have its differences. my friend has been working on this since 2005. The concept of Rollerwars originated in Birmingham, UK. And can be played indoors and outdoors the gameplay involves two six-a-side teams which skate around a track surrounded by a giant 8 feet wide inflatable safety bed and attempt to score points, by gaining possession and throwing a small, hand held, leather ball into the opposing teams basketball sized net called "Slammers", on opposite ends of the track or by taking down the opposing skater by any legal physical means necessary.

It's not really roller derby, but I can see people with a background in rugby, roller hockey, speed skating, extreme sports, and even roller derby playing this game. When I first saw the title rollerwars. I thought it was gonna be a Roller Derby show like Rollergames/Rollerjam. But when I saw the trailer. I am even more interested in it.

My friend is currently working on a new version of Rollerwars, it would most likely differ a little from the trailer

I agree, while hope to get the RBL video game become a reality, I too also hope Rollerwars become the next entertaining full contact roller sporting event to hit the internet and television. I have been in contact with my friend for a while, helping him with getting it off the ground by any digital means.
