Uhm, so... The last two weeks sort of got away from me. My cat and my car both had issues and my cat's gradual decline over the last month finally came to an end.
We've had him for ten years and he left us just around 15 years old.
He was always such a happy and playful cat, so when he started to laze around more... And have difficulty jumping, we attributed it to his joints and age. Unfortunately, it was either heart failure or Cancer. We tested for hyperthyroidism first, and week later had to take him in for chest x-rays. They weren't good. So, he was put down just a few hours later.
I'm not taking it very well, which I will admit openly. This is the first time I've had to put a pet down myself and he was my last childhood pet.
I am still working on things, but please bear with me as I grieve. I really, really miss my buddy.
I'll even miss his puking near daily, his habit of hovering around the water bowl for minutes on end until we started calling him camel cat. When he'd be a dick at night, and try to break into the roommate's bedroom, yowling and pacing. When he tried to drink out of the sink, like my fiancee's graceful cat... And got water all over his head because he just shoved it under the faucet. When he'd knock over the mint and basil, trying to eat it without getting caught. His OBSESSION with plants, especially gifted flowers, that he'd try to inhale despite them being highly poisonous to cats. His obsessive need to stand on sketchbooks, tablets and computers. Habit of opening things via shortcut on the computer that I don't even know how he did it or what the fuck he opened. His overly annoyed view of my cat, but the fact that he'd still groom him if Coco shoved his head into his face just at the right moment of the day. His PAIN IN THE ASS need to try to get out side every single chance he got, even if (especially if) you were already running late and didn't have time for his shenanigans. The fact that he got so used to the harness and leash that he didn't growl anymore and eventually learned, that if he behaved on the deck, we'd let him out without it on...
